It’s not every show at the House of Blues in Dallas you see the line of fans waiting to get inside (pre doors) wrapped around onto the sidewalks of N. Houston. Then again it’s not every night Fitz and the Tantrumscome to town with special guest Zella Day!

Waking up the night was Pinetop, Arizona’s very own Zella Day with a strong blend of indie-pop to get things started. Fresh off a SE run, that included a stop in Nashville, she made a point to give Dallas the full Zella Day live experience by not holding back anything in her performance which included banging the tamborine on the floor while on her knees at moments. After all Zella was the special guest this night invited by Fitz and the band to play. Might as well act like it!

Big proud back beats and bass synth + guitar ruled the stage along with a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Rhiannon! Songs direct from Day’s latest album Kicker paired well with the cover. No question she knows how to work a Dallas crowd!

A quick set change and we see our first glimpse of the headliner in the wings.

Fitz and the Tantrums hit the stage as a full band and instantly own the room. High energy stage presence and absolute confidence between Fitz and Noelle give their live set an honest party vibe which includes the audience! Make no mistake however, this is crafted talent on stage with top notch production!

Blowing open their set with “Get Right Back”, from the band’s latest self titled album, they seemed to electronically transform on cue with signature dance moves. This is not choreographed people! They feel every single note and beat with a crowd pumping performance.

This LA crew gave their fans plenty favorites along with songs off the new album. They also gave Dallas something no other city or group of fans will ever be able to have again. The first look at their new tour on a Dallas stage. Big D showed as much love possible right back with a lot of noise!
